We Live and Breathe Letterboxing

From: Der Mad Stamper (Letterboxr@aol.com) | Date: 2007-11-13 21:46:29 UTC
Call the neighbors and wake the kids!

Der Mad Stamper and friends have a few announcements to make about
the `We Live and Breathe Letterboxing' event that you will want to be
aware of...

First, and most important, we have changed the date of the event to
Friday, September 12th, through Sunday, September 14th, 2008. This is
now a firm date and you can begin to make your plans with confidence.

Another change with less impact to you is a change of venue. We
became very concerned with the lack of professionalism exhibited by
the staff at Camp Namanu. The good news is that we have an even
better site now and, in retrospect, probably should have been there
all along.

The event will be held at Camp Adams in Molalla, Oregon, which is
about 35 miles south of Portland. This is a residential camp with
heated cabins and 210 acres of forested trails. We are very excited
about the new venue and will give you more information about this
fantastic camp in the near future.

We know you have been patiently waiting for more information with
regard to the cost of the event. We are currently working on getting
our final pricing together and getting the registration form up on
the website. In the meantime, we can only give you a very rough
estimate of $150 per person for the entire three-day weekend. This
would include room, board and all activities for the event. We are
hopeful the final price will be less, but wanted you to have some
idea for your budgeting purposes. Again, we will get more information
and our final pricing to you soon. The very latest updates will
always be available at www.mitchklink.com/letterboxing/retreat.

And finally, to avoid the possibility of miscommunication, we have
created an email account (weliveandbreathe@yahoo.com) which is the
one and only official contact address for the event. Please direct
all questions and comments to that address.

This still promises to be the letterboxing event of the decade! We
promise it's going to be a letterboxing get-away unlike anything
you've ever experienced before. We're looking forward to seeing you
all at the event!

Sincerely,

Der Mad Stamper

This is an event I'm eagerly looking forward to- it will be thrice
welcome since all vacations at my place of employment are frozen
through summer to acomadate a gargantuan headache of a move. I'm
sure that the carrot of the Live and Breathe weekend is what will
keep me going through it! Thanks to all who are coordinating this: I
predict it will be the Woodstock of this letterboxing generation. ;)

We Live and Breathe Letterboxing

From: Der Mad Stamper (Letterboxr@aol.com) | Date: 2008-02-17 21:11:35 UTC
Hey, everyone! I just wanted to say thanks and congratulations to all
the people who have registered already for the big 10th anniversary
letterboxing celebration! I'm SO excited! It's really starting to hit
me... just how collosal this event is going to be!

We opened up registration yesterday afternoon, and the results were
absolutely amazing! We sold out of Deluxe Accomodation rooms in less
than 10 minutes! Registration forms were pouring in all afternoon and
evening. I could not believe what a great response we got from people
all over the country! This gathering is going to be everything we
ever dreamed it could be!

Of course, I realize there are some people who wanted to sign up but
simply weren't near a computer on Saturday. Don't worry... there are
still a few spots open! But don't delay, because they're going fast!
To make your reservation, go to www.WeLiveAndBreathe.com

I also want to give a special shout-out to my fellow planning
committee members who have worked so hard to make this registration
such a huge success... particularly Buppsters, Camp Fire Lady,
Marmalade, and RaqsEnigma who were all on-hand yesterday to help
process and organize the torrent of applications.

Of course, the planning committee's job is not complete. We will be
working our butts off over the next seven months to pull everything
together and make sure that this event lives up to everyone's
expectations. If you haven't signed up yet, you'd better get on the
ball! This is one party you're not going to want to miss!

We are delighted to be registered for this event. Thank you DMS and
all the other members of the planning committee. The bigest draw for
us is the chance to meet and share adventures with so many different
letterboxers from all over the United States and Canada. We have
found many of their boxes, have heard from many who have found ours,
and now we get to see them face to face. How Cool!

We plan to meet a lot of old friends for the first tiem. :-)

Sue and I were pleased to register and receive one of the
coveted deluxe rooms, thanks to Deanne & Dave - while we were over their
house for a visit.

We made sure to set the timer for Noon PST and waited by the computer for
the registration form to pop up! Deanne (the lazy one) and Dave (the bearded
one) also lucked out with a deluxe room. It will be wonderful to again visit
the PNW!!!

Thanks to DMS & friends for all of your efforts thus far and those to come.
We cannot wait for this fantastic event.

If you haven't booked yet; you better do it soon.

Don't just read about this event on our blog -

BE THERE!!

Mark

Well, after a lot of uncertainty I have just paid to attend as a day tripper
for Saturday. The problem is that we will be in Oregon sometime in Sept/Oct
for a business trip but we don't have the exact dates yet. So finally I
decided to go ahead and pay for one day, that way I know that if I am in
Oregon I can attend, but if we don't go I won't be out a bunch of moola.

It would have killed me if we were in Oregon and didn't have reservations!
So now I feel better having made that decision!

So, yes, Rhode Island (FINGERS CROSSED) will be represented! :)

And we will be spending quite a few weeks in Oregon over the next 6 months,
so even if I don't make it to the event, I will still get to enjoy the local
boxing!

We Live and Breathe Letterboxing

From: (john@johnsblog.com) | Date: 2016-06-16 07:05:57 UTC-07:00

Silver Eagle recently reminded me that it isn't too early to be thinking about planning for We Live & Breathe Letterboxing XX in 2018.

It's been suggested that perhaps 4EyesMcGee and friends in Mid Atlantic region might want to host the event. They just concluded their Great Lakes Gathering so have some large event experience. I think this is a great idea and it's close enough that I would probably spend a couple days driving each way.

Anyone else thinking about hosting L&B XX?

It is possible that my family would be able to assist (but, prob not be the primary hosts) if it will be held in the Mid-Atlantic.

I did hear a little birdie say that someone in WI might be interested also (not MM & WiHi).   I am not saying I am not interested, just need to see who would be willing to help put together such a wonderful event.

Hey, I was just saying how good a job you and 4Eyes did with GLG 2016 and that with the support of all 6 states y'all could do a great job. I didn't mean to volunteer you or put you on the spot since I realize how much work is involved.  In fact, even if people were willing to come to TX in summer I don't think I could pull off hosting such a large and important event.  As far as where to hold the event, I would love to see it held in Colorado with the cooler weather, but not sure if enough boxers exist in that area to pull it off.  I'm afraid previous L&B events have raised the bar so high it will be daunting for anyone to volunteer, but I sure hope somebody does.

Ha!  You call your measly 100 degrees heat?  Come have a seat over here in hell (Palm Springs) where we topped off at 126 yesterday.  Hahahah.  I was thinking about doing some local boxing but that meant I actually had to go outside so I thought better of it.

Seriously tho, getting excited about wherever the L&B might be held.  It will be my first!
